Those of us working in Catholic Cemeteries perform a ministry of service. The cemetery is a sacred place, and burying the dead is a corporal work of mercy.

Catholic Cemeteries Albany, NYThe mission of the Albany Diocesan Cemeteries is to help Catholics accept death in the context of their faith.

We will perform this ministry in the following ways:

We will serve as a resource on cemetery and funeral related issues to the Catholic community, help people prepare for death and to provide an opportunity to plan burial arrangements in advance.

We will encourage people to make pre-need cemetery arrangements because it is a kind and compassionate thing to do.

We will extend comfort and service at the time of death and burial.

We will be open to opportunities to console people who have entrusted the care of their loved ones to us because the cemetery is where people come to grieve.

We will direct people to appropriate support groups or professionals, and provide support for parish ministries to the bereaved.

Our programs will be faithful to our values, beliefs and traditions.

We will perform our ministry with the needs of our Catholic community first and foremost, with compassion and integrity.
